Hunting Knives

Hunting knives, as the name suggests, are utilized while hunting. In general, they are used to prepare game as either food or as trophies. For instance, they may be used to skin an animal. Another use during hunting is to cut up meat.

As can be expected, hunting knives are usually used in the wild. For this reason, they have also picked up other skills. In many ways they take the place of such items as machetes or hatchets. This multipurpose focus makes them quite similar to survival knives.

Traditionally, hunting knives are focused less on stabbing and more on cutting. They have only one sharpened edge. Often, the blade is curved slightly. Some have both a straight blade portion for cutting meat and a curved one for skinning.
