Knife Set

A knife set is basically a collection of knives. It is very common for such collections to be grouped according to use or design. Generally, both aspect comes into play. Examples of focuses which such a set may hold include use in the kitchen or use for hunting and fishing applications.

It is quite common for a kitchen knife set to include a block. This block holds all the respective cutting tools of the set. The number of such tools will often be upwards of twelve items. However, it is also possible to purchase sets with only five or six of the most standard blades. Examples of common types for this include serrated steak, paring, and chef's knives.

A knife set designs for hunting will usually have significantly less items than those designed for kitchen use. In the same way that a kitchen set will include a block, the hunting set may include a foldable carrying cases. The different focuses of knives in such a collection may include skinning, boning, and filleting and animal.
